Leblanc Model 100 Alto Saxophone (Leblanc Fingering System)

I'm offering here one of my personal instruments - a
Model 100 Leblanc Alto Saxophone
. I've been using this instrument as a back-up and have been able to find one more like my primary instrument. These instruments were first produced in the late 1950s and production continued for about 15 years. During that time span about 1500 of these fantastic instruments were produced. I bought my first one in 1963 and since that time have owned 5 of them. During the years of production the instruments were changed slightly. My primary instrument is of the later version and has a key rather than a lever for the forked E/F(picture 8) and the tone hole for the G# was moved under the lower stack rods. This instrument is one of the earlier versions (serial number 483).
The Leblanc System saxophones offer a fingering system developed by Leblanc which simplified some awkward fingerings and improved the overall intonation of the instruments. In my over 60 years as a performer, I've found these instruments to be the finest ever made. Stupidly, after college I switched to Selmer to match with the ensemble better, but since coming back to Leblanc about 15 years ago, I've retired both my King Zephyr and my Selmer Balanced Action.
This instrument is a great player. I'm simply opting for a slightly newer one that feels more like my primary instrument. This instrument has been well maintained with a complete rebuild about 14 months ago. I'd estimate that the original lacquer is about 70 - 80% present. I'm selling this beauty in a Pro-Tech style case, with a Hite stock mouthpiece, metal ligature, a plastic mouthpiece cap and a padded Neotech neck strap.
